What's In a Title ?

This post is for those of you who find my blog title hard to comprehend(completely). Sixface is not a direct translation of Aarumugam, but a word i chose to indicate my love for cubing(and of course,it reminds you of Harvey Two-Face:-|).
And,well, Metal Head = \m/ = [self-explanatory]
But why did I choose to divide it into two words?
Hmmm, now I'm quite puzzled about that as well. Sigh. Guess I'll go ask the potato.

6 Quizzes in 7 Days

Yup, that's right.

It began on Friday, the 20th of Feb(2009) with Mitaquiz at MIT (I escaped from college during lunchtime, and I did so with a gate pass, so it was a legitimate 'escape'). Teamed up with TariQ.

The next day, Biz Quiz at MIT. Teamed up with Rohit a.k.a Rotti a.k.a Soggu.

On sunday, Sports Quiz at MIT. Went lone wolf. If you've ever seen a quiz worse than this, it must've been one of the inter-house quizzes in GDMHSS (Coimbatore)!

Back to college on Monday, followed by a nice argument with my faculty advisor about getting OD for the next three days to be spent at CEG,Anna Univ for Techofes '09. My lovely FA advises me not to go for quizzes and to concentrate only in studies. Heck,I didn't miss any quiz even in XII std! For what joy would I miss a quiz in college?? Well, eventually he called my dad up and agreed to sign my OD form. So later that evening, I was off again (and away from the hostel for 3 more days, yippee! :D).

Tuesday - SpEnt Quiz. Teamed up with Sreekar(SVCE) and Vivek(CEG). Had a great time. Great quiz. Took part in J.A.M as well, but failed to impress.

Wednesday - Main Quiz. Teamed up with TariQ(MIT) and Vivek(CEG). Got the first 4 prelims questions right and were on a roll. But of course, the downfall had to begin sooner or later :P. Swooper quiz. Screwed up the Dumb C too.

Thursday - Biz Quiz. Teamed up with TariQ. Superb Quiz.

Friday - Back to college. Sigh...

Well, we didn't qualify for the finals in any of these quizzes, but I guess I can say I have more experience with college quizzing now. And the inquisitiveness is growing exponentially. Aah, well, hope to do better in future quizzes. All the best to me ! :D

Word Of All-Time

Well, we've seen Words of the Year like subprime, plutoed, Not!, e-, etc. But I just happened to burn some grey matter pondering over a word of all-time. And, believe it or not, i landed at Attraction.

Puzzled?

Hmm, let's see, the stability of atoms is due to the attraction between the proton and the electron, which i guess forms the basis of science. Attraction between cation and anion forms a compound. Attraction between north and south poles defines magnetism, without which the universe wouldn't exist the way it does. Attraction between the sexes leads to the perpetuation of species, without which we wouldn't be here. One of my teachers once said, "In Literature it is love, in Chemistry it is affinity, and in Physics it is attraction." So, pretty much, attraction it is, ladies and gentlemen. B-)

Still puzzled?

May the Potato help you. :)

Heaven And Hell

Finally, the blog world has found yet another asset, staring at a white SyncMaster793s, perhaps the only 17" monitor in this gloomy MCA lab.

Well, here I am, on the 1st floor of the EEE block in SVCE(hence the ref. to 'hell' in the title), greatly relieved that blogging is not blocked! Considering the fact that even chatting is disabled, this does come as a big relief.

Of course, no one in this boring room has any access to orkut or youtube. I wonder what pleasure the administrator gets out of keeping us away from social networking(shrug).

Hmm,the last fun thing i did was reading Calvin & Hobbes - The Days Are Just Packed (Well, unless you consider electrical workshop record enjoyable) .

And one may wonder why the ref. to 'heaven' in the title. It's pretty simple, and can be explained by a non-existing term 'antonymophilia'..you get the point right? In simple terms, Rotti would say "You see, heaven is the reciprocal of hell" :P
